I was given this wood that had once been construction beams. The recipient of the guitar is - to quote Dire Straits - strictly rhythm, he doesn't make it cry or sing. I therefore went for the simplest guitar possible - one pickup, no controls, just plug in and go. As the wood is very dense, the centre section is thick enough for the neck pocket, controls, etc, but the side 'wings' have been made a lot thinner.
